Yeah, I thought the same, they’ll happily shell out £500 to get £4000.

It might be a good alternative to those not wanting to pay though. I have no idea how much bite the ombudsman has, but anything that possibly slows down the process of them taking the money from people is no bad thing, even if it’s only for a couple of months, and, as ever, if it builds any pressure on the government to step in and help people then it might be of use.
