mono-stereo you seem to have a very narrow view of what music can and canāt be described as ābanging/technoā based on how fast itās played.
Not only its tempo but also how ābangingā/hard it is, its general mood, rhythmic structure, etc. etc.
I donāt know why youāre talking as if itās some obscure notion that different genres of music are categorised in different ways - I mean, itās as if youād also want to somehow argue with the notion that say āambientā music is generally of a fairly slow tempo and either beatless or with soft/subtle beats.
Or some dumb statement like "you seem to have a very narrow view of what music can and canāt be described as ābreakbeatā based on whether it has broken beats".
Would you describe Derrick Carter as ātechnoā? No. Would you describe Jeff Mills as āhouseā? No.
Different genres have different characteristics.
