Unbroken1 …never really understood the fuss if I’m honest, arrived in London too late for Shoom etc. but he was always on the line-up of parties in the 90’s- music always seemed to be an odd mish-mash with little or no flow… never really understood the R1 show either, dissonant mix of vocal garage and boshing Goa trance, who the fuck signed that off!?
Dan Unbroken1 Always loved the Rampling v Proctor Sunday morning spats on Facebook. Highly entertaining.
alistair Listened to a recent goa mix of his from a 96 Love Groove. Better than the perfecto shite Oakie was playing Astral Projection – People Can Fly [TIP Records] Psychopod - Psychopod [TIP Records] ManMadeMan & Tristan - Purple Merlin [TIP Records] Astral Projection - Let There Be Light [TIP Records] Leftfield - Space Shanty [Hard Hands] Art Of Trance - Kaleidoscope [Platipus] Van Basten - Silver Bullet [Brute Records] David H - Passion (Pure Seduction mix) [Feverpitch] S-J - Fever [React] The Dentist - Jacob’s Ladder [Boscaland Recordings] Union Jack - There Will Be No Armageddon [Platipus
C_J alistair we absolutely rinsed that mix to bits back in the day, off our tits on that early batch of cali suns…… simpler times, lads.
hugopal alistair evidently not - I usually turned it off again after about 5 minutes. I had no idea until today he even used to play that stuff.
benson I still have the first tape I got off the radio in about 1995 from Rampling on R1. It has K90 - fusion, and astral projection mahdevah on it. It’s a bit of a sentimental treasure. Hugo should have stuck it out. Missed out on some great tunes.
mono-stereo His book can be summarised “I took loads of drugs and had a wild old time until I had a mental breakdown”
