I think the only Defected release I own is the two disc Nick Curly mix, not bad at all. I’m sure there are some more singles I enjoyed, but mostly associated the label with cheesy vocal driven house.

Yeah I’ve been blissfully unaware even if they existed until recently.

Their CDs around 2004-2005 ish were in my go-to collection but just didn’t follow them religiously.

It’s nice to see a House label not just stand the test of time but seemingly thrive.

Just found a Defected in the house Goa 09 triple cd on the shelf. Mixed by Simon Dunmore, Atfc & Pearl. Don’t think I own any vinyl on defected

Not that I had many many records off of either label (Defected or Subliminal), but always thought Subliminal had a better back catalogue than Defected. Hard to look past Harry Romero (Tania) and Jason Jinx (NY Experience) from that era. Remember playing that arse off of Nick Warren’s EM from 2001 that had Harrison Crump on it too.

For the record, Strictly Rhythm a different league to both. Reckon most of us probably had more vinyl off of Strictly than the other two combined.

BMG acquired Strictly about a decade ago and bundled it with Defected. Simon Dunmore leaves big shoes to fill. This is a beauty
