Whatever happened to him?

Had high hopes for the lad.

Horizons was some fucking tune to kick off a career…

    Dan

Haha I watched a prog on that place a few years back. One of those on call pigs late at night progs. Was proper methville.

Smallman1 he matured as an artist and and has released a string of albums.

Google streetview of Jaywick is a trip. With that location you’d expect it to be nicer, the streets look like Romania in 1990.

Hi 2002 Essential Mix is still one of my favourites.

      Cheers

Saw him up in Aberdeen 20 years ago and had him back at the afters for a bit. Nice lad. Quiet.

      Don’t start, Derms.

Fucking hell, anyone would think Holden has died instead of just leaving prog trance in the rear view mirror. Pointless thread

He was resident at a night I used to go to in Oxford years ago.

The tunes were great but he couldn’t mix a vodka and coke.

He came across as a right tit in interviews, was quite disrespectful to the trance crowd who used to pay to watch him.

alistair Fucking hell, anyone would think Holden has died instead of just leaving prog trance in the rear view mirror

If you listened to what he’s made over the last 15-20 years, you’d be forgiven for thinking he had in fact died and been replaced by a child with a xylophone.

              Hmmm

mono-stereo deserving of disrespect however. and now they are merging with the business techno crowd even more disrespects. prog is gateway, was great in 1992-1993 billy nasty, rubbish after that. even sir William moved on.

also billy nasty sold digweed his rekkids, as the children like to say

I am definitely billy nasty enjoyer.

james holden always been rubbish, horizons and today. same difference. whiteboy has no funk in his upbringing. too much oxford university nonce crowds have surrounded him. shame noone in prog mafia liberated him from such a noncey town. but what can one say.

ali-star …lived in Camden andI was a Zoom regular and mine and Mr Nastri’s musical tastes aligned for a short (and excellent!) period, not convinced what he ‘moved on’ to was all that though, remember him pushing a lot of thumping industrial Euro trance for a while, before he progressed into his Dave Clark ‘serious techno’ phase.

I’ll def enjoy that mix you posted by the way… flicking thru it, Leftfield dub of D:ream, Dome Patrol etc. proper!

Quality DJ and proper sound bloke.

Unbroken1 dave clarke serious techno phase is good. after all 2000 dark prog was just cheap knock off of morph - stormwatch from 1994! do not even deny, have a listen and see that digweed was for certain, 6 years too late.

The James Holden track that Alistair posted is absolute fucking drivel.

Thing I liked about James Holden was that he had a very unique sound. I don’t think he needed to venture too far from that, but instead he went on a completely different trajectory. Now you can click on any track of his on BP from 2003 onwards and it’ll guarenteed to sound like a year 11 school music project

Drawing the most tuned in crowds and making the best music. Truly his peak.

Have never heard a track that’s 51 minutes long tbf.
