It is dangerous but once you get used to it have and go with the flow it’s not that scary especially in busy town centres. Riding at night is much worst as nearly everyone rides around with their full beam on blinding you.

Cankles-McJeggings I’ll happily admit pre-baby, my wife did 90% of the driving. Yes it always looks weird af with me in the passenger seat and the missus behind the wheel, but there is no shame or ego involved when my mental well-being is preserved on trips through bangalore traffic, because she “enjoys” driving.
Took me a whole year just to gather the courage to drive in India again after 5 years in California. And another 6 months to not shit bricks behind the wheel.

Dubman Bumper to bumper insurance has always had me covered. Never had anything serious, touch wood. Car got flooded once during the monsoon, thankfully there’s an act-of-god clause in all policies as well.
I’d be ok if a person who drives full beam dies, but tbf, it’s not like there is enough street/road lighting in this country.

bosstrabs Once had dinner with the guy who brought Peugeot to India. More than a decade after his failure, but he still seemed pretty broken about the whole ordeal.

rhouses I’d be ok if a person who drives full beam dies

    Mahatma Gandhi’s in the house!

    11 days later

Took a ride in my mate’s new Cupra Formentor earlier. You’d be hard pressed to get a better drive at that price. Impressed

rhouses Nice wheels, is that model the same as the Sorrento over here?

Their tag line is a bit cheesy however, “A new species of badass”…..its a family SUV lol

Hursty lol lol was just going to say, why the fuck would they use the word badass in their marketing. Cheeseball.

We have the sonnet here, which is half the price. I think the seltos is pretty much the same as the sportage, but is smaller. Might be wrong, didn’t do too much research on the differences between Europe and india.

Nah not Sonnet, Sorrento is the biggest suv Kia do. It goes Seltos (for birds) Sportage, Sorrento.

There’s nothing ‘badass’ about a seltos either I’m afraid. It’s for picking the kids up from school car.

Cankles-McJeggings ahh gotcha, there was an EV6 which was triple the price of what we paid for the seltos, which seemed to be their top tier model. Same pricing as BMW.

Here it’s the Sonnet then the Seltos and then EV6, pricing wise. But I might be missing a model between the seltos and ev6.

The ev6 is a car not an SUV. As is the Sonnet.

        Kia suv range.

        Seltos
        Sportage
        Sorrento

Cankles-McJeggings I think you need to drive in Bangalore to understand why a big fuck off SUV is nothing but a liability. Very happy with the size of seltos.

Cankles-McJeggings the sonet is considered a compact SUV here (same tier as the Ford Eco sport), and half the price of the seltos. And the EV6 Is categorised as an SUV here.

I’ve just looked. India is totes fucked up compared to the first world! The names, the range, everything is different. Ignore what I said. You haven’t even got the Sorrento which is a blokes car. You haven’t even got the Sportage either . Bigger than Seltos, smaller than Sorrento, but considered a soccer moms car. 🤮

Cankles-McJeggings I think Sorento is the same category as Jeep Compass, going by the expected price. Only expected to come to india 2050? Google might be wrong with that date but wtf.

              rhouses

Sorrento same class as Toyota Prado, mitsubishi pajero and Hyundai Santa Fe.
There’s no way a car company would project 27 years 😂

Cankles-McJeggings Weird they didn’t bring down the Sorento to India (the website leads me to the US site unlike the others), guess there isn’t a market for it here yet.
