Hursty I’m struggling to see how this wasn’t inevitable and obvious.
Stop EU migrants coming to an economy that’s built on cheap labour so they had to come from somewhere right?
Monumental fact palm for a government who’ve constantly banged on about reducing migration
It was inevitable and obvious that migrants from the EU would be replaced by migrants from outside the EU - but the extra shock for many will be that the net inflows are somehow even larger than before, despite the increased potential for the government to impose restrictions.
It makes one wonder whether it was actually an unintentional face-palm by the government when their policies could have theoretically been tighter or implemented more strictly.
