Ignorant maybe yes, but then I wasn’t Home Secretary. May was of course Home Secretary when the decision to clamp down on illegal immigrants with her so called “hostile environment” was made. That policy had terrible ramifications for Caribbean immigrants, as we all know. The way it was dealt with was shocking. A complete fiasco. That is all indisputable.

That’s too reductive and assumes that race is in fact the central reason for the make up of either party and that there aren’t other factors. As Mono said, they have very different ideologies, as is shown in Labour’s recent commitment to the expansion of employment rights.
