Black tie

Black all the way imo. Other colours are for Mike Hunt office idiot. I bought a d&g one last year and I looked fucking mint. Only thing is any decent suit ages badly. I bought an Armani one 5 years ago and it looked all kinds of wrong when I tried it on at xmas. I also bough a Paul smith one for my bros wedding in 2012 and I could easily set fire to it than ever be seen dead in it again.

I have a few like this, tempted to see if I can find a big enough BERK to buy them on Ebay

The cut of the trousers are the deal breaker. When I bought the Armani one I thought to myself ‘fuck me this is going to last me years’. Luckily I put it on around start of December just gone to check and couldnt actually believe how bad it looked in such a relatively short time. The trousers were horrific. My work suit is more acceptable. People do collect decent suits from well known designers.

I’m generally in agreement, in that very dark with white is proper - as opposed to some absolute BERK who busts a red ‘tux’ (it’s usually an American) or something. However, midnight blue has always been acceptable if you want something a tiny bit different, and apparently the original garms favoured by Edward VII were midnight blue rather than black, so you always have that defence if someone tries to rip you for it.
I bought a midnight blue t-shirt not long ago that I was convinced was black. My Mrs told me not that long ago it was dark blue. FML
Be that cunt who turns up at a black tie awards/wedding in a kilt, Sean.
The traditional UK police tunic was also such a dark blue that it appeared almost black. Hence, the ‘boys in blue’ of course.
*Not the modern paramilitary-looking cunts, who are now actually wearing black.
Not sure I follow, how does a good suit look bad very quickly? Is this down to the ever increasing rotundness of the purveyor?
I’ll have it known right now Saville row is the only place millsy gets his bootcut suits from.
