Meanwhile, the Russian league continues
So thatās Canada out then, right?
Thank fuck. MID team back where they belong. Good riddance!
I thought Belgium was such a well behaved country as well
Germany in deep scheisse!
Musiala looks like a good player.

Can we get a temporary character limit before Jay copies and pastes the epic he is undoubtedly knocking out in Word about what Canadaās only goal means to him personally?

Heāll currently be eating a bowl of his ASPERGERāS meds like Cheerios.
hugopal According to the BBC commentator, Canadaās scorer was ātheir undisputed star - Jonathan Daviesā
Heās not the first to get them confused. The amount of times Iāve seen commentators butcher Alphonso Davies last name and call him Davis, or even Jonathan David and vice versa is pretty high. Iāve even seen it happen to Davies during the Bundesliga English feed games (always an Englishman paired with a German speaking English) when he plays for Bayern.

Itās a big moment for the sport in this country. Itās the first goal scored in a World Cup after not having scored whatsoever 36 years ago in 1986. Thatās the story line our sports broadcaster was running with at least. 8.9 million Canadians (AKA 25%) watched the Belgium vs. Canada match. It was the second largest most-watched sports event behind the Super Bowl. Thatās a pretty impressive number when you consider that the women used to out-draw the CMNT in attendance and also viewing numbers.
Considering where we were and where we are now as a footballing nation, I think weāve come a long way and thereās room to be proud but also to improve upon even more. Iām excited for when we co-host in 2026!
We looked the part for a good twenty minutes, but Croatia were clearly the better and more experienced side. Croatia laid waste to our high press. I still remain hopeful that we can beat Morocco and would love to see us score again and at least get three points out of a match - even if itās meaningless as far as the tournament is concerned. Personally I feel the only way to go is up from here.
Also, before you get too big for your britches Zackster, donāt forget the Canada beat and drew both the US and Mexico in qualifying for this whole thing.
At least we won the Davis Cup today, so thereās some consolation.
The main thing is you were fucking wrong.
