Solid solid night with the man like Sasha in Bangalore yesterday. First time I’m seeing him since I had heat stroke in Singapore during the Ultra Festival in 2017, doesn’t really count. 2011 before that.
Most animated I’ve ever seen him behind the decks (plenty of jesus poses, fist pumps on bassline drops etc), and he was just relentless. Don’t think I heard one atmospheric percussive intro/break down through the entire thing. He played a couple of breaks tracks that were pure filth, sampled xpander over the most insane electro techno beat, and didn’t shy away from some trance bangers. Seemed like he had a great time. As usual I was a judgy mofo about the Bangalore crowd and even the club, too young, what the hell do they know types. But damn, was hanging with some of the youngins (no older than 25) who brought an ipad in for the WC final, and was more than happy to hear them say, “Wish Digweed was here for this. Would have been better.” Think I might be venturing out a bit more. Heard the same promoters (Sunburn) are bringing Diggers next, followed by Hernan. S&D to play during the Sunburn Festival in December, with Hernan warming up is apparently the long term plan.
Loved that Sasha held up the Indian flag at the end (about an hour after we won the T20 WC), crowd went ballistic. lol.
