mono-stereo I think on the second point I might agree with you to an extent. She’s basically slandering anyone who tries to engage in discussion with her point of view as possibly transphobic, racist and homophobic, which seems like an indefensible position for her to take, but she manages to wriggle out of it quite well because essentially there is some truth to what she’s saying: many people who oppose these reforms are those things, and we all know it.
On the first point, I don’t think she handled it well. she’s basically tried to hide behind the fig leaf of saying it’s an operational decision for the prison service, but then totally undermines that position by saying the reason they intervened in this latest example was “to give clarity…..due to increased public scrutiny…… and the SPS would have reached the same conclusion anyway based on their risk assessments”.
Now clearly that’s good enough for many people but I think if you really give this some thought you’ll see how absurd this is. It’s actually hilarious. And frankly it’s absolutely killed her. Like Salmond says, stick to talking about fuel poverty in an energy-rich country and the right to self determination because on those issues she has huge support. Don’t choose to die on this hill before you’ve fought the real battle. Talk about self ownage.
It just shows how utterly incompetent they are.
