So - my water bill just dropped onto the Matt….
£717.00. They really, quite literally - are taking the piss!
Here’s what I don’t get: 1) This rise is above inflation by some margin…. (It’s £100 quid above last years bill - which I thought was extortionate then)
2) Everywhere I see them out and about, fixing leaks and replacing pipes. The amount of their product being wasted is surely going DOWN, and one would HOPE fairly substantially with the amount of works going on, meaning that there should be more available. I assume (dangerous, I know), that they are prioritising works so that the largest leaks are being fixed first [logical]. Seeing as we drink recycled water anyway (the old adage being that London water has been drunk 7 times), how TF are they able to justify this level of increase?
We are all just cows, being milked for _every last penny ….
Looks like I will be joining the metered brigade fairly shortly…. Providing I don’t freeze to death first…..
