Hi guys,
Since my musical direction has changed I’ve found myself unable to contribute anything of worth to the JC community. I didn’t get that vibe at all in the past but I used to play a lot of Prog, so I had look at a couple of my older stream threads today and it’s understandable given what I did for a long time was symbiotic and of at least some value to other people’s new music discovery.
I’ll be taking a step back from JC, was going to say nothing but decided I wanted to pop my head up and say a thank you - mostly for what happened between 2020 and 2021 - you guys were all stuck at home, so was I in a very different location and, yet we still managed to make the best of the situation and share some good music, peel some spuds, dance topless, call out misbehaving kids, deal with technical challenges, get drunk live and (sorry scott) delete melodicast 13, and most importantly, tunespot.
Once we went live, from where I was stood on an empty terrace, there was something in doing it that made me feel connected to you that is hard to describe given the physical distance.
What I probably didn’t say on here was that there were plenty of points in our lockdown, when having that stream to prepare for on Sunday gave me ‘one’ purpose in a week which would have had none.
I wouldn’t have been in a good place without it. But, you ribbed me a bit, then gave me a shot, and many kept coming back. Even made some real friends who I keep in touch with.
So I just wanted to do the unusual and instead of just thinking it, actually say thanks before taking a step back - and whether it did to you or not, just showing up (even just seeing if what I’m doing is for you), means something to me.
