I’m in Berlin for a weekend with the dutches. Not really bothered about clubbing. Probably gonna check out the stasi museum on Saturday.
So what’s popping food and bar wise? Also @hugopal

Looks mint that Mono.
Hold that cheese for OLB though, natch.
German “cuisine”, like their language, is fucking hideous.
Had the currywurst there as a top recommendation. Dreadful.
SM001 Currently enjoying a pot of complementary wasabi peanuts in the hotel bar. Seems quite advanced to be honest.
mono-stereo Went to W Pizza earlier on. One of the best pizza’s I’ve had anywhere.
Lol, that’s literally on the corner of my street.
I wholeheartedly agree with you - it’s sensational. It’s a real struggle to not get one every day when walking passed it constantly.
mono-stereo on the bar front, do you smoke/mind smoke? Because smoking is still allowed in the vast majority of Berlin bars and so if you don’t like it then it really reduces possible destinations. Also, do you want a late night bar/craft beer bar/cocktail bar etc?

Yeah late night bars/ dive bars really, I smoke so that’s not an issue. Was down the road from the pizza place at “Pawn dot com” earlier, that was cool. Didn’t see anyone smoking inside though. Nice area.
hugopal I bet it is. Best Pizza I’ve had in years.
First prize - 1 night out on the town with Hugo
Second prize - 2 nights out with Hugo
mono-stereo Aah, I hadn’t realised W had opened up a second location - I’m by where their first one is.
‘Mein Haus am See’ is also quite a fun bar round where you were if you want somewhere lively in the evening - it usually has DJs throughout; I played there often when I first moved here.
An enjoyable thing to do on the food front is go to the Käfer Restaurant on top of the Reichstag - the food is refined classic German fare, it has a nice ambience, and you get very good views of the city when you go out on to the terrace. Given the views I think day time is perhaps best.
It’s not cheap, but going for breakfast or appero (afternoon tea) is still reasonable. You need to book 24hrs in advance though I think, plus bring your passports with for the reservation; also breakfast spots might already be taken for this weekend, but it’s worth double checking.
All the menus and reservation forms etc are on the website:

Cankles-McJeggings a rare lol for CPR
hugopal nice one, Will have a look into Käfer.
You must have a local döner-kebab before you leave. Visiting Berlin always puts me off kebab you can get here, because they’re always absolute shit compared to the ones I had in Berlin.
Can’t say the food in Berlin stuck with me, but I enjoyed the vibes and the burger at The Bird.
