Can’t argue with that. But it’s about the only blunt tool they have to either get the economy going or slow inflation down. Not that low rates is the only thing that will get an economy going. But as far as central banks go, that’s about all they have.

They create a dollar token on chain and store that dollar in a regular bank so it is “backed”

Said bank goes under which means said token is not backed anymore hence carnage.

This, from the FT article, piqued my interest;

I’m no ‘expert’, so could be miles off, but the implication here seems to be that funny munny is worth bollock all in real life unless it’s linked to something that is?
