For the record, vinny, i have absolutely no issues, concerns, problems or qualms with anything that allows everyone on this planet the same standards of living, the same chances at life and a fair crack of the whip. None at all. That should be the basic human right for us all.

I am not prepared to walk around cap in hand, begging forgiveness for everything that someone of the same colour skin inflicted on other humans many years ago, that was outside of my own control. Coming from a country where the colour of the skin was irrelevant but your religion was and seeing people shot or bombed because of same, this will not end well and there will be old feelings reignited on both the black and white side if we go down this route of calling out anything non-black as racist.

Maybe i am picking the more extreme versions of what i have seen online mate, not tarring a whole movement with one brush. Same as any movement i suppose, made up of people stood on different rungs of that particular ladder.

      Along_the_Wire… a good mate of mine from childhood lives in Fairlawn, NJ, main office is downtown near MSG. Works for. Republican donor company. He swears he doesn’t watch Fox News but his views always seem to match exactly with the talking points that right-wing media, in particular Fox, have been hammering home all day. Like a play book.

      Even if he genuinely doesn’t watch Fox, the message (talking points/code words) will always trickle down to those who are on the margins anyway, the ones who think they’re too good for MSM but at the same time still spread the erroneous shite that trickled down to them anyway.
      Some of the stuff I’ve read on social media this week makes me think that there’s an ongoing campaign to change, whether intentional or not, the way history played out, People really believe that Whites in America have been the victims of racism for the last 60 years and not the other way round. Twitter undoubtedly changes the way people think, messages like that are being shared and seen by millions of people and they really “BELIEVE” it. No less than 100% Trump supporters. The nonsense needs to end. Fuck your politics. The nonsense needs to end. Where is it all heading? Someone pull the fuckin reigns.

        I can’t see how whites have been the victim of racism in any shape of form during the last century, especially in developed “first world” countries…

            Wait for it lads, the man who founded one of the most popular boys clubs in UK history was, to quote a Labour MP:

                      -si- Depends who ‘they’ is. Different laws in different countries currently. In the UK, for example, it’s legal if you have two job candidates of the same capability to give the job to a candidate from a protected group (e.g. an ethnic minority group) purely on the basis of their group status. In South Africa, it includes the use of pre-determined quotas in companies, sports teams or educational institutions.

                      For the record, I’m in favour of affirmative action, but think it’s poorly implemented in many societies. And whilst a vast majority of my circle of friends is white, those that are not aren’t looking for dramatic apologies and shoe kissing. They just want to be given a fair fucking chance.

                        Along_the_Wire What I was saying is that post Nazi generations have not let anyone shame them for what their predecessors did, they have got on with being a productive and prosperous country.
