I quite like the Lullaby mixes.
They help me get to sleep.

…my name is Damien, and I’m an Ableton Live user.
Ableton needs to come up with a feature that simulates train wrecks and sound clashes to keep the whole camp happy, Damo.
…seriously, does anyone give a fuck these days? in the last 3 years I went from Traktor, to Live, to Rekordbox and back to Live and no fucker noticed! Since I got my new mixer I’ve been experimenting with videos/streaming and although the live mixing style is probably a little different, I’d defy anyone to say its any better/worse.
I’ve been an editor of pictures/sound for the past 28′ish years… I love working this way, especially the aspect of occasionally being able to close a project when I’m not feeling it and returning to it later.
Is it as creative? I’d say so… most of my best ideas for edits/tracks have come from working this way.
It’s defo just as creative, Damo. Purists argument to the contrary is from a past era at this stage and makes no sense anymore imo.
I know a very good DJ back home, he’s been doing it since the early 90s, VINYL ONLY of course and he’s seriously clued in. Played at festivals all over Europe. He thinks Diggers cheats because he uses CDJs with beat counters. It’s a really strange viewpoint.
Fair enough Damo. I can understand jamming on decks for four hours, just not on computer. The photo-editing point made sense though, can kinda see the similarity.
This all inspired me to try and do a tight two hour-mix. Not quite there with the CD-length Cyril, but I’ll try.

Using a computer of some sort for stop, save, go etc. is perfect for putting together a shorter tighter mix as know the tracks really have to work together, and being able to flit about and try tracks together quickly or make edits is a big time saver.
I was only joking Damo, I’m in the couldn’t give a fuck camp. Keep them coming.
Unbroken1 When was this mix? Did you win Damo?
…no didn’t win.
The Decoded one? Probably longer than the 4-hr one, spent ages on it!
