  • Unbroken- June '20 Lockdown Mix...

LT42 …some of these live streams have been the worst for those twats coming out of the woodwork, ‘vinyl set next week please John!’ etc. Why? how exactly will this make the experience better for you?

Fair enough Damo. I can understand jamming on decks for four hours, just not on computer. The photo-editing point made sense though, can kinda see the similarity.

This all inspired me to try and do a tight two hour-mix. Not quite there with the CD-length Cyril, but I’ll try.

Homegrove ….yeah, but the point is, I wouldn’t sit and do it for four-hours in one-sitting on a computer, because I don’t need to.

The best sets/mixes are usually ones that are inspired by jamming on the decks and working-out your direction first though.

Homegrove This all inspired me to try and do a tight two hour-mix.

Using a computer of some sort for stop, save, go etc. is perfect for putting together a shorter tighter mix as know the tracks really have to work together, and being able to flit about and try tracks together quickly or make edits is a big time saver.

Amps …took that approach on this competition entry mix a few years ago. Basically all the tracks are completely layered and edited to bits, don’t think there is any point where there is only one track playing:

I was only joking Damo, I’m in the couldn’t give a fuck camp. Keep them coming.

Unbroken1 Out of interest, how many hours do you reckon you put into this one?

          …no didn’t win.

The Decoded one? Probably longer than the 4-hr one, spent ages on it!

I think that’s the first mix i got of yours. You may have posted it on the old Bedrock forum i believe. Wicked mix.

Smallman1 I can normally handle about 26 minutes of a Millsy mix before wanting to kill myself

Has Millsy been ‘back-channelling’ Darren whilst SM1 was in denial with Inspector Hopscruff?

              Curiouser and curiouser.

Millsy If I find out that Lullaby 3 wasn’t recorded in one take, completely live with a full orchestra, I’m going to be very annoyed indeed.

Millsy …I’ve let myself down, I’ve let my family down, but most of all I’ve let a load of middle-aged alcoholic loosers that I’ve never met before down, and for that, I’m truly… truly sorry.

Unbroken1 lol! Ableton: less time for mixing, more time for beer forts .
