Charlie May-remix of Orbital’s Illuminate. That breakdown…

Few criteria…

What’s the red book quality and Hi-Res quality like?
Can it resolve a live soundstage- i.e. place instruments within an orchestra, separate audience noise from audio
Does it make me emotional? Some equipment can resolve incredibly well, but sounds sterile (so I tend to go for tube based amps, not solid state)

This track allows me to compare all the above (it’s Hi-Res 24bit, 96Khz)- the piano solo at the end…😭

Anything from the Dark side of the moon or OK Computer

I keep getting ads on instagram for the 50 year anniversary re-issue.

Not sure I want to look at how much it costs. I’ll only end up buying it, then regretting spending so much money it.

Millsy well done for posting a video of the song in 480p in a thread about reference tracks.

hugopal yes. Because you will play a you tube clip for reference of course. Bellend.

Millsy it still doesn’t really provide a good demonstration to us as to why you’d want to use that track as a reference track.

Also, there might be circumstances where you may wish to listen to something and at least initially youtube is all you have available.

Hugo’s random and pointless artillery attacks make more sense if you snort a load of spice and knock back a bottle of Campari.
