One of my favorite podcasts covers both of these projects. Both are insane boondoggles that only an inbred brain could have conceived.
The Line is essentially WeWork but if it was a city and also a straight line. Every mile the shops, housing, restaurants, ex repeat. So, you have no need to travel outside of you section of The Line unless you want to see someone living in another section, and why would you know someone in another section when all of your friends are right next door?! It’s an absolutely awful idea. My understanding is that some sections are already functioning, but Demo’s buddy would know better than I.
Neom is supposed to be an insane resort/attraction/city/amusement park thing. They were trying to bread living dinosaurs for safaris but breaking news, that wasn’t possible so they have moved onto robot dinosaurs. There was a plan to have an artificial moon orbit the place, and a bunch of other super insane but also low IQ idea. Worlds longest zip-line iircc. I don’t believe any phase of Neom is currently occupied/operational but again its been a while since I heard about it so maybe Jurassic Park Big Game Hunter awaits!
