Fuck that sucks. Idk why but I loved Van Halen when I was little. Getting shit faced and blasting some of the epic Sammy ballads later.

One of the coolest Rock and Roll moments of all time.

Eddie Van Halen going early is a HUGE loss for the rock music fraternity. That guy was a legendary guitarist. Gone too soon!

Van Halen bros’ back up vocals were sublime. Like a choir of heavenly angels.

alistair that is superb. I like the people in the comments being like “Fred was just being chill. Over reaction Ed!” Lol!

I can only hear this in Trump Voice.

What an insane vid. If I can ever pull together more than 20 min of a live techno act, I’d love to do it like Sammy here.

EVH was a notoriously odd person who apparently had no sense of humor - literally laughed at nothing.

      EDIT

"In a new interview with Billboard, the Van Halen co-founder and guitarist reveals he’s not familiar with Guns N’ Roses, Radiohead, or Metallica. He also claims to know only one Ozzy Osbourne song Randy Rhoades played on – and it’s “Crazy Train.” Eddie insists he’s never listened to the music of a single band that opened for Van Halen, and says his favorite thing to listen to in the car, is the motor,

“I don’t listen to anything,” he tells Billboard. “It’s an odd thing, but I’ve been this way my whole life. I couldn’t make a contemporary record if I wanted to, because I don’t know what contemporary music sounds like.”"

That’s just not true, but fine nonetheless.

That song just sounds like Journey. But still pretty good. [EDIT} until the solo. EVH shreds. I worry for the state of our man Zack when Springsteen kicks.

KLANG. I met Hagar once at his dumb bar in Cabo San Lucas. He was nice enough for as drunk as I was. I must’ve been 19. Could’ve been some Mexican cosplaying Hagar, mind.

Dan fond memories, remember listening to the charts every Sunday and recordIng the tracks I liked. This was one of them

Absolutely crushed by EvH’s death. One of the genuine rockstars I’ve always feared their passing. Been a soundtrack to my life so far and will continue being so.

Gutted for his family, friends and the rock community.

      💔

Yes mate. I read it earlier that he started a record label in Jamaica and was the first person to sign Bob Marley. Rip.

Apparently Eddie had two thirds of his tongue removed and continued to smoke. Quite the commitment.
