303abuser Smallman1 just saw this, apparently had a couple of strokes and wasn’t in good health. can’t believe they wrote simmer down when he was 16. another legend gone.
vinnyt77 Gutted to hear that ☹️ Hearing his voice would instantly transport me back to watching F1 races in the 80s, sat on the sofa next to my Dad…
bosstrabs Murray Walker, didn’t realise he was 97 (therefore 77 when he retired). Good innings that, and just goes to show a massive speedballs habit need not be an impediment to a long life.
alistair Dan Was more of a Sugar Ray Leonard fan and was delighted when he beat Hagler back in 87. That said, Hagler was a supreme fighter who went unbeaten for a long time in a period where competition was ferocious. Remember my Dad waxing lyrical about his dismantling of Minter in 1980 to take the title Hearns and Duran were also world class at the time and they never ducked each other. Legends the lot of them
Dubman Dan My fav fighter after Tyson. Watched most of his fights in the 80’s . Hagler Vs Hearns must be one greatest fights off all time.
