What a wonderful excuse to watch Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy (2011) again tonight.

As I’ve said on Facebook, he helped me get into Oxford. I blathered on about his books in some attempt to sound like a rounded individual. Turns out, and I really didn’t know this at the time, it was the same college I was applying to.

A little bit of a fluke. It’s a great book. Really enjoyed the tinker tailor movie, and also ““a most wanted man” which I reckon is quite under-rated. had to watch a ““the constant Gardner” a second time to get it.

Radio 4 was almost non stop eulogy for him for my drive in this morning. Worth listening to.

A lot of friends have complained the plot to be hard to follow. I always reply that yes if you don’t pay attention. It is not a movie to watch while being on your phone half the time.

Homegrove Didn’t have too much trouble with TTSP, but I do get fucked off with films where they have a mix of a convoluted plot, characters with similar names, and then in a bid for some sort of authenticity the actors mumble half their lines. You can nearly always work it out, but sometimes you might lose a bit of the intended tension from the plot.
