NasserAlazzawi In the UK, we elect a parliament for a period of typically 3-5 years. If a single party is elected to that parliament with a working majority, the leader of that party is the de facto Prime Minister. If that Prime Minister resigns, the next leader of that party becomes PM. That party can go on ad infinitem electing new leaders to become PM until the end of the 5 year parliament if they wish.
There are actually very few ways to force a general election during a parliament. A simple majority (326) MPs would need to demand a vote of no confidence, and then vote that they have no confidence in the governing party. That would immediately trigger a GE. For that to happen, a bunch of Conservative MPs would need to vote against their own party’s government. Given the state of the polls currently, about 75% of them would be out of a job. I doubt there are enough of them with a spine to do that…
