              While Hamas may ultimately be shooting itself in the foot and harming the people under its rule long-term with its actions in the same way that Putin’s government has been, the suggestions that it is doing so without some significant support appears false in the same way that there is still a reasonable chunk of the Russian population that continues to back Putin.
