You’ve been blacklisted!
Mad_Cyril was reading something a few days ago about band camp being taken over and lots of staff layoffs. All very negative.
Matt
Scuba has done a couple of podcast discussions on it if you wanted to hear more (or read more from the show notes on it)
Is the first.

Yep. Fridays are probably going away
Heard about all that.
My q was about release notifications, which I seem to have none of, and wether others had the same?
I’m less arsed now, enjoying the silence instead 😁
Mad_Cyril I’ve not had any either.
zackster If that means less week more weekend I’m all in 🥳
Total speculation here but I fully expect the post takeover to feature a move from selling and buying to streaming. Djs and fans renting their music is the name of the game.
…1-minute long own-label bootleg radio edits incoming.
(I’ve had 11 emails from them today btw!)
Unbroken1 (I’ve had 11 emails from them today btw!)
Oooooooh. Get you mr popular 😁
Mad_Cyril …tbf, most of them are “You received this because you bought…” followed by some awful, unrelated noisy shite, or a ‘limited edition’ tote bag from some obscure Swiss acid jazz label.
Unbroken1 Love the tote bags.
You Grant and Zacko need to get on the merch train!
Unbroken1 Or a notification for an upcoming listening party. What in the fucking fuck is a fucking listening party?!
SM001 …lockdown is responsible for some terrible, terrible behaviour.

When you know.
You know
I find the interface on Bandcamp horrible, its not easy to actually find anything? It’s also a bit random in terms of releases….I looked for an artist, found his page and the last track on there was from 2019. Yet the same artist is on beatport with loads of newer tracks available to purchase.
gcw yeah I’m the same can’t seem to get a good flow at it.Bit clunky pity cause there is good stuff on it.
gcw I always do a Google search for a track i’m after and if its on Bandcamp then a link will pop up. Their own search function isn’t great.
Producers usually have their own page and/or a separate page within the labels page.
I think it’s best to source tunes from wherever you like the UI / content (and that doesn’t have to just be one place), then decide where you want to buy from.
The one-stop shop doesn’t really exist.
