I worked on a building site in Sydney in 2004, think I lasted 2 weeks before getting fired on the basis that I was absolutely fucking useless and had no idea what was going on.
I then ended up selling accidental death insurance on behalf of Westpac bank in a call centre, would call up Aussie farmers, give them the sell and they’d say “look mate, are you trying to tell me that if I die in an accident, my family gets a million bucks?” I’d say “you’ve hit the nail on the head” and they’d say all enthusiastically “LET’S GO FOR IT MATE.”
Couldn’t flog the stuff quick enough.
