  • Iphone V Pixel 8 Pro V Samsung S23

My iphone 12 is fucked and there is a bit of a wait to get a new one form work. They do, on the other hand, have a PIxel 8 or a Samsung s23 to choose from that i can grab straight away.

What are these phones like in comparison to a iphone 12 and is it a ball ache to transfer data from an iphone to an android?

Finally if i have been using iphones for the last 8 years, will the functionality of an android prove be a pain in the arse?

seanc80 is it a ball ache to transfer data from an iphone to an android?

    Lol!

sorry now i know this is probably stupid lol

Free yourself of your Apple chains, Sean. It’s a mindscramble.

Moved to Samsung 12 years ago. Will never go back.

Currently struggling to use a mac for work. Never used one before. Fucking shite imo. Hate it

seanc80 Not stupid. It’s as Dutch says. Mindscramble. I worked for Apple for 5 years and still can’t get my head around the iPhone iOS. Apple do great hardware but their software is torture.

So what would you go for between the Pixel 8 pro and the Samsung S23?

A mate has recommended the Pixel 8 pro

Don’t listen to them Sean - borrow one from work (someone has bound to have been fired - it’s January) and give it a go for a few days. Google is clunky and the App Store is a shambles.

Along_the_Wire Google is clunky and the App Store is a shambles.

Are you referring to an android in general or one of those phones specifically here , Granto?

seanc80 Android specifically - the phones themselves are very good, but the OS is shite in my view, especially their Wear OS which was almost unusually versus Apple. To be fair, Apple is very good at keeping you in their bubble, but I like it because everything just works

My Son has the S23. It’s a very good phone. My last 3 phones have been pixels and I prefer the S23. The only thing that stops me from moving to Samsung phones is their version of Android. It;'s not a patch on Google’s IMO.

Whatever the merits of android over iOS are, I personally found switching out of the apple ecosystem a pain in the neck, especially if you use a MacBook and iPad which I do. I didn’t find the benefits of doing that were worth the hassle and am back in an all apple system except for music production.

I’m on my 2nd Pixel…. Brilliant phones and value.

Along_the_Wire I use Ableton Live, Izotope RX10 Advanced and Ozone, Mixmeister Studio. Having a PC gives me freedom to use double monitor, select a sound card, etc.

Same here. Pixel 7 at the moment. I’m going to keep it for a few years. Decent camera only slight drawback is no expandable memory.
