Home theaters/ sound bars
Iāve got the Samsung HW-Q90R - bought in Nov 19 along with the 75ā Sammy - perfectly times for a lockdown. Itās been updated obviously, but it works brilliantly. The sub is tremendous.
Along_the_Wire mahogany effect cabinetry?

rhouses just stay away from home theater-forums. Like any hobbyist-forums they too are full of assholes. Iāve not asked any guestions myself, but looking at them the typical response to any āI have this and this and I have this problemā guestion is met with āyouāre an idiot for buying that, you should have got this instead.ā Not helpful at all.

I bought an LG soundbar and Sub for 30 quid off a smackhead Gumtree when i lived up in Edinburgh. Does the job nicely.
@Homegrove You mention HDMI, I think you need HDMI with ARC so as to control volume and have it turn on and off with your TV remote. Unless youāre a man of many remotes.
Millsy mostly white in the living room Millsy.
mono-stereo yeah, I can do remotes. Earc these days. Arc canāt really do Atmos I think? Whatever Iām getting itās going to be 7.2 with Atmos capabilities even if Iām not using them. But I think I will, I can hook some small speakers in the ceiling.
Along_the_Wire how deliciously Aryan.
I hope you all go deaf.
Fuck it, pulled a plug on a Sony AV receiver. My blu ray-playerās Sony too, so one less remote if I canāt get the arc HDMI-thing to work. Itās dolby atmos, so I bet Iāll be looking at height speakers in no time at all, because 5.1 just doesnāt cut it.
Iāve got SONOS for music so went with their soundbars and subs. Both sizes of each plus Ones for surround. Really happy with both set ups, tho Iām no audiophile tbf. Plus you can link them all as one system to provide neighbours more reasons to detest you.
Had to endure a Sonos Bose debate once, where I honestly couldnāt given a fuckā¦ brain was melting. The Sonos did sound good tbf.
Iāve got a Yamaha RX-V475 amp/receiver with Cambridge S75 floorstanders as my fronts, a Monitor Audio bronze centre speaker and some old JVC rear satellites. Everything goes through it, all controlled with a Logitech Harmony remote. I have been thinking of changing the amp as it doesnāt have HDR/4K pass through
TitianWarrior I have been thinking of changing the amp as it doesnāt have HDR/4K pass through
Schoolboy error
Mad_Cyril not really, Iāve had the amp before either of those things existed
First episode of Masters of the Air was very good stuff to test my new ampās surround sound. Plenty of plane sounds going around. Show is decent too.
