SM001 Rubbish, there’s always room for a melodic vocal hook in my summer listening.

      alistair They just tried to capitalise on the success of ‘Tremors’, kidnapped a producer of the moment and spackered out a run of the mill ‘melodic’ vocal track. meh imo

                It’s weird that I find these tracks more interesting now than I did at the time. I think I was so taxed on Prog by 2001 or whatever that it just all sounded the same after a while and I couldn’t be bothered to filter through all the nonsense. But I quite like it now.

                    I think this so called melodic house is all starting to sound the same. It’s one of reasons I don’t buy singles anymore. I’d much rather buy an artist album where the music is more diverse. Sometimes I’ll buy an album and not like it straight away only to go back to it a while later & love it. I just don’t get that anymore with singles.

                        Dubman I’d agree with you on this point. Some of the most satisfying longer term listening experiences I have had recently have been with albums. Rodriguez Jr Bliss, Kohra Akho to name two.

                          Dubman the amount of times I have gone back to Singularity, Consoles and Compro is another case in point and they were all 2018

                            strummer I’d say it is arguably the greatest. Other great second albums would also have to include Power Corruption and Lies.
