…LFO was prob the most popular example because it crossed over (made top 20 IIRC), a classic no doubt, but there were other tracks I liked better of that style. First time I heard ‘Testone’ in a club (big Astoria anthem) absolutely blew my mind, sounded other-worldly. Used to love Rhythmatic’s ‘Take Me Back’ too. Sheffield gets most of the props for this style, but I remember the Network label from Brum really pushing bleeps too, alongside more US-style techno like Reese/KMS.
Great memories of that era of techno, really reminds me of my first nights out in London.
