I guess they don’t make much from the label, but rather the forum the label provides? Makes no sense otherwise. Sure it sounds the same to most, but for those of us who do the Beatport Friday dump (those who buy the music), 18 months is a long, long time. The stylistic turnover is so quick. And it’s not like they’re releasing classic tracks anymore. It’s all quite rote. And with YouTube rips and IG clips, 18 months might as well be 4 years. Pointless.

jonattonyeah this always mystified me. if we asked them why they simply do not put it out for years would they just not say something like “its to keep the punters coming to see us play out to hear tunes they cannot get at home ?” , but there is so much out there and its impossible to listen to everything i can’t see this as a huge problem. most people in clubs never have much of a clue as to the tunes in my experience. maybe its is just an elitist desire to hang on to the exclusive …..dunno really.

That’s ace. Patrice Bäumel is the fucking man at the moment. Head and shoulders above Dixon and the rest of his peers. Really good ear for music.

That lock down mix someone posted where he’s in a club on his todd is really fucking cool.
