Old-Dutch and this time the british bases in cyprus. they were why we lived in cyprus and the strange relationship between “british land” in cyprus and our air base in particular causes great concern for the residents. the main Akrotiri air base is right near limassol. for such a little paradise of an island it is at odds with the vibe but the moment they supply air support it becomes a target.

Being this close on the map (208 miles Limassol to Tel Aviv) means you can see ICBM’s drop out of the sky from Cyprus looking towards israel.

I would find that a bit of a headfuck - I would have seen that from my home (to the left of the poolside when I was on camera)
