I have no idea what happened here, but I’ll toss in my opinion anyways. If you take money to do something, you should probably know how to fucking do it. Especially if that something is to perform in front of a large crowd who paid way too much to be there.

Tough to sympathize with some muppet who couldn’t be bothered to learn a skill as simple as digital dj’ing. It’s not like she was trying to juggle three decks for 12 hours.

All in on Grimes, but will swerve her DJ set.

I’ve no idea who Grimes is?

    Hope that helps.

    Cheers.

All of this could have been avoided if she played wrecking ball prog on vinyl.

Is this not the responsibility of the promoters for making these bookings in the first place?

I’ve heard of producers getting booked for DJ sets and accepting the offers because the money was too good to turn down. One producer said they were watching Youtube ‘How to DJ’ tutorial videos on the train ride to the gig!

Smallman1 All of the worlds problems could be sorted with wrecking ball prog, Ed.

We’d have peace in the Middle East by just rocking up to the Gaza Strip with disc 2.

This. Digital dj-ing is so straightforward (all the dj’s on this board have mastered it!). To not have a handle on it / to not even bother to prepare speaks volumes.

Don’t know about the djing, but I’m a big fan of her live performances (on YouTube) and catching all the subtle variations while she’s running around and working all her gear on the fly.

Having skipped through this I actually feel sorry for her, she’s obviously having a reg from the start. A sound engineer briefly appears then fucks off again staring at his phone. A good engineer would of stayed up there and botched a workaround (ie give her a pair of cans and point at where the crossfader is.) No one there would of noticed or given a fuck)

Anyways the wheels start to compeltley fall off at around 30 mins in, but fair play to her she carries on and attempts to explain the problem with a bit of humility. Others would of just walked off stage at this point I reckon.

I doubt it - the bloomin’ Palestinians will probably try to argue that disc 1 is better.

              I haven’t watched, or listened.

              But it’s a total disgrace!

The worst thing about the whole debacle is a load of gatekeeping DJ’s on social media saying I told you so

I don’t know why she’d been trying to use sync to begin with anyway - it’s not as if she was actually trying to mix any of the tracks together on beat.

Yeah, though also after the first couple of times jumping on the mic to explain what was going on not sure she had to keep doing it between every single track.
