Mind bending quality stuff from last night …..never knew anything about Alan Wells until I listened to these mixes on here…..anyway I was in Germany a couple of weeks ago and wandered into an old vinyl shop which had almost literally every pop/rock album from between 1970 and 1981. Amazing stuff….every Elvis Costello album, Police, Led Zep, Pink Floyd,, Kate Bush…on and on ….. so I bagged a couple of Genesis albums from the 70s which I’m sure I listened to when I was a kid but were melted in the great fire of Lisson Grove in 88 …anyway I can now see why we call progressive house progressive house because the fundamentals are all there - the prominence of the keyboards, the arguably indulgent noodling around melodies, the building of emotion .. ….elements of Distant Shores by Peter Dundee or Track 19 could be a Genesis track! It’s only taken me 30 years to work that out!!
