This board hasn’t been as engaged since the unveiling of the 2022 JC Advent Calendar.
Been chatting with @Superprogressive on the side, as unfortunately it was a thread I started many moons ago that had the hurtful posts on. Typical….. the one thread I start that puts me in contention for a JC End Of Year “Most Posts Award” it get taken down ! Cheers SP 😀
A few thoughts;
-I’m pretty sure whoever posted the comments in question were just a bit excited/OTT, but as the subject of those posts SP should not have felt threatened and has the absolute right to call them out. So fair play to SP. I think its pretty clear the vast majority on here are sound people and mean no harm. Just like to “chew the fat”.
-That said, the thread itself was intended to be a discussion, hence the title - “SP Presents …” rather than anything else. It was not a hate thread, but an opportunity to discuss someone bursting onto the scene, a scene that in all honesty was rather staid. Not everything is brilliant. Not everything is shite. Everyone has an opinion and the thread was intended to air those opinions. There were hundreds of posts and i think the vast majority were pretty balanced. Some people didn’t like / some people liked / some people debated between each other / some people just took the piss / some people called out the piss takers for being negative. A fair reflection of the smorgasbord that is life/society. Agree with @NasserAlazzawi theme that we should all remember the human behind the subject, but we should also not be scared of airing a view if presented correctly and not hurtful/aggressive.
Welcome aboard and definitely get involved in the tunes / mixes threads / 5 for Friday etc
Stay away from the Trabbs thread as thats the most volatile on here ! How thats not been taken down yet god only knows ……. 😁
