Had a great evening.
Thought Sasha was mint for the opening 2 hours. Shame the sound system was set to ‘shite’ for that part. (I don’t get why you wouldn’t just have it set up from the start when a headliner is playing?) He dropped a track that had a woman going ‘aaahh aaahhhhhhhhh’ over it (similar style to raincry) that was monstrous then Digweed came on at 8 absolutely swinging. (Him getting a proper welcome from the crowd was a lush moment) His hour or so was mental good. They both dropped some absolute bangers. The longer it went on though, the more it became apparent they don’t really mesh together as well as they used to. Digweed bringing the hammer down with driving prog techno only for Sasha to bring it back down (he did a 20 min section that was just cheesy shite - including a remix of what sounded like 9pm till I come (Michael Mayer remix maybe?). Pulled it together for the last hour when it was more fitting to play some closer cheesy ish tunes. Sasha dropped an out of time mash up / remix. Didn’t recognise anything else other than some LNOE tune which is always a result when seeing Sasha and it was nice letting John wrap it up with another round of appreciation from the crowd.
Roundhouse was a decent venue. Atmosphere was way better than outernet (mainly because S&D were front and centre, not shuffled off to the side) but not as good as a proper club but hey ho. When I saw the signs saying pt 1 - Sasha 6pm, pt 2 Sasha & Digweed but no time, I did think it was contractual loop hole where he’d only do an hour to make sure everyone got paid so was a relief when he come on.
Great to see some faces from the board.
8/10 Reckon Digweed will be immense if you can catch him on his todd at the mo
