Looking forward to the Ashes lads. Obviously backing my boy Hameed, but not sure he’s enough to fully support the English. Tim Paine and Langer are great examples to hate the Aussies, but I feel like Smith deserves another mammoth series.

Don’t know why, but the Stokes announcement changed everything, England have the edge now. Just getting rid of Sibley makes a huge difference. Also, those Aussie bowlers are not as menacing as they’d like you to think. Warner might be an easy wicket through the series. Marnus will be animal tho.

rhouses False dawn. England are still a woefully underpowered batting unit, and I remain to be convinced we’ve got 20 wickets in our bowling attack more than once or twice in the series. I don’t think this is a great Aussie side, but it’s definitely not a great English side.

Smallman1 yup but we were massively underpowered - missing 3 world class players - Roy, Stokes, Joffra plus Mills who wd have been ideal. hats off to the kiwis who just went for it and it paid off. it was annoying though that one dull over of slow bouncers and yorkers wd have won us the game

vinnyt77 England have played so much Test cricket in the last year with a solid cushion of rest. Insane amount of cricket actually. Australia haven’t played a series all year, since India. Broad, Burns, Crawley, and Laurie - weak links imo. But otherwise you guys are pretty solid. England should be favourites without a doubt. Should go in for the kill.

How does Jimmy do in Australia usually? I’d imagine he’s not tall enough to make the most out of the pitches in Australia. Robinson should do well.

rhouses Mixed, but gradually better as he’s got older/wiser. Really does NOT like the Gabba or the WACA. Typically much better at the SCG, MCG and Oval. I’d be amazed if he plays all five tests, but the first is at the Gabba, and last at the WACA, and tricky to see how England would drop him for any of the three grounds he tends to perform best at…
