Along_the_Wire Agreed. I get the ‘why’ of it, but just don’t think it works in a professional sport context. I feel bad for Moeen Ali, as his tour got off to such a monumentally shitty start with his isolation. The others though? I don’t get why a Bairstow or a Wood needed a break from the tour.

alistair I’d have preferred to see players rested for the whole tour if their (undeniably insane in some cases) schedule requires it. It’s the rest/rotate policy I struggle with.

I can remember being in Goa when India started playing Pakistan again after the break they had. All the fireworks going off down the streets after India had won a game.

Dubman Was there for the entirety of the 2007 ODI series played in India. India won a pretty tight series 3-2. 2nd game was on the night of my 30th birthday (but that’s a whole different story) which Pakistan won by 4 wickets on the last ball. Watching that in a beach bar in Goa was fucking tremendous. The game I watched in the cabbies’ bar in Agra wasn’t as close, but was absolutely incredible to be a part of the local lads watching it.
