Some of my more creative / early adopter friends have found good uses for AI within their fields of work to save time. I know very little about it but believe there’s huge potential when used properly/ethically.
I was wondering what it could be used for within the music scene. For example, making your own artwork instead of paying designers is one thing that sprung to mind.
It seems like you need to know:
- The basics of Chat GPT
- Learn how to ask it a well aimed, specific question for it to tweak what it gives you until you are happy with the results (it seems if you “ask skillfully” you get great results)
- Find out what other AI tools are out there that can help you in your field - because there are a lot of them (too many to find out about tbf) - and then learn how to use the ones you would like to work with.
I always feel like I am a late adopter with things like this because its so much of the unknown and since most of you are older than me I’d imagine I’m not alone here unless you’re into tech.
I’ve heard of producers using AI plugins for Ableton and Logic generating sounds with their voice, for AI to go away and find the instruments you ask it to, and it kind of pastes over your vocal with the sound you really wanted in a professional manner.
My first dip into AI has been tonight on Adobe Photoshop. Brave for me, I can barely use it.
Photoshop has a plugin where you can tell it to generate edits to my own photographs either from it’s own sources on the internet or against a reference of another image that I give it.
Pissing around, for my first go I took this image and told it to replace me with a polar bear dancing (I did not dress it like that)
Are any of you finding AI useful? What are you using?
