DJs I’ve just found out a way to export rekordbox playlists hassle free.

This was always faffy because rekordbox spits out a lot of content that isn’t relevant or easily readable and I had to copy them into excel, format the lines. Took me 5 mins.

All I want is the format

1. Artist - Title (Remix) // LABEL

Any time I do a set, I bring the USB stick back home plug it into my laptop, open rekordbox and go to HISTORY. It imports the tracks I played in order that I played them.

So from a Method Lounge live stream I did last night - just now I’ve typed in “convert my rekordbox playlist into a list of songs in order. Formatted in order of NUMBER, ARTIST, Title // LABEL”

It asked for an exported .m3u8 file, which generated the wrong result (m3u8 only looks at the file name)

Then, I asked it a slightly different question - to look at the exported playlist.txt file instead. It said it couldn’t read the .txt file properly and needed me to copy the contents of the file - however - it worked!

“convert my rekordbox .txt playlist into a list of songs in order. Formatted in order of NUMBER, ARTIST, Title // LABEL”

I pasted a whole list that looked like this original format:

A friend of mine is in a difficult situation. Chat GPT came to the rescue today.
