Highly recommend this breaks mix from Jon Gurd. Listened to it far more than most other mixes this year.

Jon Gurd proving yet again that Anjunadeep produce some very good stuff among the more generic fodder

Whatever happened to the likes of Adam Freeland and Tayo. They were really big on the scene in the early noughties?
I remember seeing Hybrid play the Gallery at Turnmills with Parks and Wilson and John Graham (cracking night) and they played about about a third of Involver on the week it was released. Lo Fi Burma!!!!

      alistair Adam Freeland

Not too popular in these parts but had some great nights out with Freeland (until he lost the plot with the indie stuff). Was in a band called The Acid. Had a good David August remix if I remember right. Techtonics is still a great mix; one of the better from the era IMO.

alistair Adam Freeland did a live stream from his FB page a couple of months ago.

I never liked hybrid for some reason. I bet they were good live though.

Kohra’s new album is full of beautiful atmospheric breaks. Definitely reminded of the good old days when it was all the rage. Worth a listen if you’re heavy into the genre.

Sniffing around my own collection for breaks and this popped up - I know there’ll be frowns, but fuck me, this was some mix of Heaven Scent. Love it. I won’t mention the Greyarea remix of Emerald.

To break or not to break? I’m not sure but it’s a classic

The breakbeats on the Ewan Pearson remix of Hallelujah are as fat as fuck. Real drums too I think. Need it on vinyl for the afterparty

Listening and clearing out my gigantic Beatport hold bin while I do some work. Got some decent breaks in there from the past few years; this being one.
