LT42 Like today is much better than the 70s, plastic in oceans, private water companies pumping sewage into lakes and rivers. Plus over farming so fertiliser and slurry running in also and entitled populations with their food waste, fast fashion and cheap tech which is all about slave labour. Plus 00s government pushing diesels, now pushing EV’s and heat pumps when we don’t have the grid and will need to keep going back fussel fuels to run them when we hit 70m population.
Who can afford either anyway, and they don’t last. Plus will heat pumps out last a boiler highly unlikely and will require more maintenance. Once a condensing boiler is up to operating temp it idles and puts out barely any fumes.
Coal is the only thing we have progressed away from at our power stations but is still being used in households, I totally against that for air quality but honestly we have not made much progress if any on the environment since 70s arguably.
Imo small engine petrol cars should of been the push in 00s, way more efficient and better for environment than hybrids or EV when you consider the lithium and energy it takes to build one.
Governments don’t have a clear direction and net zero can be used the way oil cartels have done for decades, esp with companies getting so called grants and funding for projects, that rarely take off esp hydrogen.
Aviation could well be the biggest polluter yet the focus is always put on normal people with how they drive or heat their homes. Airports keep expanding adding flights and some are half empty.
