Fair play to Cole Hocker in the 1,500, ran a brilliant race.
That was a great race, Ingebrigtsen looked stunned after the finish.
303abuser The dozy cunt ran the wrong race
303abuser Didn’t see, have disconnected from the TV for a few weeks.
Some of the write-ups I’ve read make it sound like a classic
Mad_Cyril It was a classic for sure. I don’t understand how anyone finishes that strong after the early pace.
It can’t be a classic, GREAT Britain didn’t win GOLD.
Hardly Coe Ovett but a good race. Now for Hudson Smith
Dubman She’s no Andy Ruffle!
Dan Wasn’t he a BMX star
Dubman Yeah….. I’m going back a few years.
Dan He wasn’t as good as Eddie Fiola
303abuser Easy to underestimate what it takes to win gold, I guess.
Events like that give the lay person (fat bastard here) a small insight.
Literally everything beyond the limit .
Will watch when I can, thanks for posting
303abuser another close, quick race and another American beating the Brit to silver. Hudson Smith couldn’t have done much more beating his own PB.
Mad_Cyril Race pacing is a really difficult thing to get right and at that level, it’s a knife’s edge. Every marginal detail matters and sometimes it just comes down to having the legs on the day or not. It’s one of the reasons I love racing so much, you really get to find out where you sit competitively.
alistair Was that the 400? Haven’t seen anything today, had to work unfortunately.
303abuser yep, the American snuck through at the end again!
303abuser always aim for a negative split - if you over cook it in the early stages, it can really bite you hard later. Don’t follow the early pace. Doesn’t suit everyone and is open to exploitation.
Cool, I’ll go back and watch the replays later.
Along_the_Wire Yeah my best 5-21k efforts have been negative splits. Psychologically it just feels easier when you’re passing people at the end instead of getting passed. I tend to aim for even splitting really long runs.
Skateboarding stuff has been decent throughout. Fair play to Andy Mac at 51. No Nugenix needed.
Amps one thing I’ve discovered is that the women are absolutely shit.
Along_the_Wire Compared to the male pros, maybe, but they’re also still better than about 99% of all other skateboarders out there.
