It's the forthcoming films and TV thread...innit.
Derm’s favourite comedians are Freddie Flintoff and Chubby Brown?
Talk about wonders never cease!
This looks good. Older and grizzled Jude Law seems like a good modern day Gene Hackman-replacement.

Forthcoming physical media. I preordered The Usual Suspects, The Gift and The Cell. That’s 105 € gone lol.
RichM if you have a good set up with good sound there’s a big difference. At best streaming services push about 20 mbps, and that’s with Apple TV, 4K Blu rays go up to 80 mbps so there’s quite a difference when it comes to compression.
I also just like collecting them movies. But with the sound especially there is a big difference with lossy sound on streaming and HD on disc in my 7 speaker surround set up.
Have that Rich, you fucking deviant
Most people who stream stuff do it with the TV sound, or with a lap top so obviously physical media is redundant for that. It’s just sickos like me who still like it. And have space for it, in our case a dedicated home theatre room.
Mubi is putting The Substance on their streaming service for October 31st (I think I read somewhere it’s for Halloween only) if you want to watch a movie that goes well with plenty of snacks.
Steven Soderbergh does horror.
Apparently a remake of Cliffhanger is on its way, with Lily James. I mean, fuck off.
Another remake of a classic on its way. From the director of the excellent Fried Barry
.
Phil-McRackin the original 80’s film is great!
mjh it is!…couldn’t believe it when it popped up in my local Ritzy videos after reading about it in Fangoria.
Nosferatu reviews are out, and a few odd ones out they’re all raving about it. Did not think about it before, but this is probably the only period accurate Dracula-film (even if it’s not REALLY a Dracula-film) set in the 1800s because of course Eggers will make sure it’s period accurate. They’re also saying it’s a true horror-film too.
I can’t wait. January 3rd in Finland because the cowards didn’t release it for Christmas like most of the world will do.
An actual Iraq war vet Joe Mendoza co-wrote and directed this with Alex Garland. Looks awesome, I love Black Hawk Down and Hurt Locker.
Homegrove thought those two films were boring - this one looks pretty good
