Club Random with Bill Maher is pretty cool. The anti-kids agenda can get a bit tiresome but otherwise, nice to hear him and his guest loosen up as it moves forward. By the end of the Tarantino episode, they’re both slurring.

rhouses he’s written a book that’s a prequel (how Neil McCauley became what he was in the movie), and sequel (it follows Val Kilmer’s character) at the same time. So he’s promoting that. He also plans on filming that. Would not want to be in charge of casting, as he can’t use any of the original cast. The sequel takes place five years after the movie, so even if Val Kilmer could act, he’s too old by 20 years.

Kilmer’s character sets up camp with a cartel in SA where facial reconstructive surgery is commonplace for sicarios. There’s defo a workaround for it.

Empire with William Dalrymple (one of my dad’s favourite historians) and Anita Anand. Nice combo of hosts, Englishman who spent most of his life in India, and and Indian heritage woman who has spent most of her life in England.

Apparently the English don’t teach colonialism at schools?

nicksneddon I’ve seen all of these on YouTube. Some of the lives these people have led are crazy.

The interviewer. although he gets a bit irritating after a while, seems like a decent bloke. He’s tried to help many of the people he interviews by getting them off the streets, out of prostitution or into rehab. He usually ends up getting fucked over.

Watched a couple of those Soft White Underbelly and even subscribed on YouTube, pretty hardcore and depressing overall. Fascinating nonetheless. Probably easier to digest as a podcast.
