Anyone been listening to the James English podcasts?
Billy Moore’s stories about being in prison in Thailand were an eye opener. First night he slept on the floor next to a dead body. 👀
LT42
LT42 which episode is that LT? Looks interesting that series
Jules72 I think it was done this week sometime, Jules. Chap called Billy Moore, ex-Liverpool gangster. The Tony Bellew one was also very good. Likeable chap really.
LT42 cheers 👍
I only listen to three these days
Chapo Trap House Cum Town True Anon
All three are hilarious. Cum Town is hands down the funniest thing going.
This is good…
watching the david blaine episode now, it’s nuts. great episode.
“do we need another bucket” “maybe”
🤣
I’m looking for similar to Adam Buxton but with better guests, anyone?
New season of Bellingcat has started. Terrifying as per. Brit host with the most soothing voice, but scaring the shit out of you with all sorts of government-led horrors. Great recco from @Unbroken1.
Subscribed to Bellingcat, looks interesting, thanks for the heads up.
…they are great. Quite enjoying the new series of Slow Burn about David Duke (surreal that he was still in the House of Representatives in the 90’s), and the new run of Malcolm Gladwell’s Revisionist History.
Unbroken1 Didn’t know Gladwell had one. I like his books. Nice one.
Malcolm Gladwell is a fucking fraud.
I don’t know why, but I find Gladwell’s tone patronising. Almost like he’s talking down to you.
That being said, do enjoy his music podcast with Rick Rubin.
the Louis Theroux episode with Chris Dowd (didn’t know who he was) is hilarious.
On the subject of Buckles, anyone else used to go watch his excellent ‘Bug’ music video shows at the BFI Southbank?
I didn’t Hugo.
Hope that helps.
Gold…
Here’s a good one I came across today..
LT42 Also available on better platforms than Spotify.
Have currently been giving this a whirl: https://play.acast.com/s/wehaveways Good if you like WWII stuff from a European perspective, although the chat goes all over the place.
Two excellent footie podcasts…
Radio 5 Live’s World Football Phone In… covers domestic and international football…Tim Vickery is excellent on Latin America
No Question About That…. my favourite of the Manchester United podcasts - just two intelligent blokes discussing United
