Word around here is a load of staff leaving and a likely HQ move away from SF. Their office is just about a block from mine and there’ll be no love lost given the tax breaks they received and the fuck-all they’ve actually done for mid-Market (a very troubled area).
I would bet our resident iron man with a touch of the downs will lose a lot of money on this. Outside of tech sycophants, people in media, and complete losers, nobody uses Twitter. I’m in the fucking Bay and I don’t know a soul with an account. Its outsized influence is manufactured by those with a vested interest in stock prices or blatant self-promotion. Twitter is completely irrelevant to anyone outside that bubble. And good luck with advertising when racist rants, disinformation, and promotion of genocide are looked at as “muh freeeee speek”. Idiot Elon spent $43B on a rotten egg.
