If I remember correctly, Perception was shoehorned in at the last minute because Galaxy didn’t get cleared
the transition into Sacred could be the greatest transition of all time.

I do remember reading that, but can’t remember the full name of the track you’re referencing? From what I recall it was some female vocal number that seemed to make less sense than Perception.
hugopal Galaxy - The Island (Vedra Mix) was originally down to be played. He also wanted to use Donner Sumner - I Will go with You (Club 69 Trippy Dub) but it didn’t get cleared

Just went and listened to both of thhese and 2 things come to mind.
Why TF would anyone not want to have their track on a GU mix, which at the time were HUGE. That pretty much guarantees immortalisation of a track.
The correct track was played there. Perception is miles better than either of these. Then again, that may be due to point 1 above.

Yeah it’s the Donna Summer track I remember reading about. Thank fuck that didn’t get included.
I’m not sure I’d heard before about the Galaxy track also being mooted. It’s a cool track, but also a bit upbeat for what is the otherwise consistently dark and moody disc 2. It’s also just not as memorable as Perception.
Posting his run through of the tracks pre-release again
hugopal it was some female vocal number
…have you heard it? It’s hardly a full-vocal garage track

…immortalisation for the (however many progheads) that bought it (and still dissect it ad nauseam on here), but let’s be honest, most people will never have heard about it. Kinda understandable that Donna Summer didn’t feel she needed a career boost from a fairly niche mix album.
